Introduction to Firearms for Beginners

Inst- Youth-Shooting-FeatureThis class is for those who want to increase their knowledge about guns, rifles and shotguns, ammunition, gun safety and storage, shooting basics and other firearms related topics. You will have a chance to handle and inspect all types of firearms and the ammunition that they use.

Class size is limited to 10 people and takes 4 hours. Private classes are available upon request for a special price.

NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting

SA imagesThis class is provided in 2 phases. Phase 1 can be completed online at NRA Training https://onlinetraining.nra.org/ . This portion takes a minimum of 7 hours to complete, though you work at your own pace. Phase 1 is also available in a face to face environment. This is a comprehensive class on pistols and revolvers, ammunition, safety, storage, marksmanship, etc… Phase 2 Basic Pistol, which is required for certification, is a face to face class to review what you learned in Phase 1 and apply that knowledge and skills on the range. Firearms and ammo provided. However, students with there own handgun are encouraged to bring it and their own ammo (50 rounds). This is also an 8 hour class that includes range time.

Class size is a minimum of 7 and maximum of 15 for Phases 1 & 2 and takes 16 hours/ 2 days. Firearms and ammunition are provided for Phase 2.

Cost: Online Phase 1 is $60.00 with Phase 2 at $80.00. Phase 1&2 in person is $160.00.

NRA Basics of Rifle Shooting– Coming soon.

Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe use of a rifle in target shooting. This course is at least 14 hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot rifles. Students learn NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the Basics of Rifle Shooting handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Basics of Rifle Shooting Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate.

Class size is a minimum of 7 and maximum of 15 and takes 14 hours minimum.

Missouri Concealed Carry Permit Plus– Coming soon

Laws Gun- MO State Capital CCLearn the basic information about guns, shooting, use of force, Missouri firearms law and Concealed Carry laws for state certification. Even though Missouri is a permitless carry state (Constitutional Carry) it is recommended to have a permit if you intend to carry a firearm while travelling thru or to another state that has permit reciprocity with Missouri (Illinois is NOT one of them) and for special protections while carrying in state.

The “Plus” is a second day to delve into some critical topics such as Missouri handgun laws and use of force laws, Emergency Medical Treatment for gunshot wounds, safe firearms storage,  insurance options and a preview of additional training one needs to be a responsible concealed carrier and gun owner. Also the equipment needed and how to practice your marksmanship beyond this course or shooting at cans. In this course we will be going to the range for live fire practice and qualification. Firearms and ammo will be provided.

Class size is a minimum of 7 and maximum of 15 and takes 8 hours for MO State Permit or 16 hours for the full course.
